Dr. Chowdhury accomplished his MBBS in 1995, MD (General Medicine) in 1998 and DM (Gastroenterology) in 2004 from the prestigious Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

Dr. Chowdhury underwent 12 months rotating internship at the Sir Sunderlal Hospital, B.H.U.Varanasi. He served his residency in Medicine (1995-1998) as a part of MD
(General Medicine) in the Dept of Medicine for 18 months, in Gastroenterology ward for 12 months and in the superspeciality units of Cardiology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Neurology. As a part of DM (Gastroenterology) course (Senior residency in Gastroenterology), he managed outpatients and inpatients services, and also performed various diagnostic & therapeutic endoscopies in addition to the procedures under sonographic guidance.

Post MD, he served as Senior Resident (Gastroenterology) at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow and as Senior Resident-Medicine at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Delhi. He was appointed Service Senior Resident (Medicine) by Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and worked there for approximately 2 years.

After accomplishing DM, Dr. Chowdhury worked as Lecturer in Gastroenterology at Superspeciality Hospital, Govt Medical College, Nagpur. He served as Senior Registrar (Gastroenterology) and Consultant Gastroenterologist with Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata. He was attached with AMRI Hospitals, Kolkata as Consultant Gastroenterologist and as Consultant with Vivekanada Hospital, Lucknow.

Dr. Chowdhury is working as a Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Sahara Hospital, Lucknow which is a 350 bedded multi-disciplinary, super-speciality, state of art hospital. Hospital's Gastro department runs daily OPD and offers round the clock emergency services. Department is well-equipped with UGI Endoscopes, Colonoscopes, C Arm and ERCP scopes and Capsule endoscopy. It is a high volume therapeutic endoscopy centre of excellence. Dr. Chowdhury performs all routine Endoscopies, ERCPs and various therapeutic procedures. He is also actively involved in teaching and training DNB students.
